Exam-Day Time Management for MCQ Tests
Practical time-management principles for timed multiple-choice recruitment exams.
Know the rules before exam day
Confirm duration, sections, navigation rules and marking scheme from the official notice or admit-card instructions. Do not base an attempt strategy on an older recruitment.
Use checkpoints
Divide the available time into rough checkpoints so one difficult section cannot consume the whole paper. Leave a final buffer if the interface allows review.
Protect accuracy
Fast guessing is not the same as speed. Read qualifiers such as not, incorrect, only and except carefully. Negative marking, when applicable, changes the value of uncertain attempts.
Practise the strategy beforehand
Use timed mocks to test the order of sections and time allocation. Exam day is not the right time to invent a new approach.
